Context

University Grubhub is designed for college campuses that utilize the existing Grubhub application towards their dining hall system. The redesign of the application has improved overall functionality and user experience.

Problem

The existing application demonstrates poor design within the information hierarchy, app organization, and color contrast, making it difficult for users to navigate options. There is no differentiation between the restaurants that allow order for pickup, order in person, drinks, or food only. Additionally, the interface is missing a map feature which would help users to better locate restaurants without needing a third-party application.

Solution

Improvements towards information hierarchy and content organization provides better navigation for users. Additionally, an added toolbar now differentiates venues that service order for pickup, order in person, drinks, or food only. Color contrast has been improved by removing dark coloring against poor typographic treatments, which also increased readability. Further, a campus map is now included for students to better navigate their campus venues within the application.
